Peter Holmstedt – Principal
BEMU’s principal, Peter Holmstedt, is a bassist and a huge Star Wars fan. After attending Berklee College of Music’s Summer Performance Program in 1992, his musical education has largely consisted of playing with and learning from others through countless bands and guest performances with various artists. Performing together with others in real-life situations — creating and being present in the moment — has been his greatest driving force and explains why he has explored so many different styles and genres over the years. Artists Peter has performed with in concerts, clinics, or recordings include Eric Gadd, Morgan Ågren, Dan Reed, Jojje Wadenius, Conny Bloom, La Gaylia Frazier, Papa Dee, and many others. He currently performs primarily with the group P-Floyd.

David Myhr – Head of Education
BEMU’s Head of Education, David Myhr, was the frontman of The Merrymakers in the 1990s — a band that achieved international success, particularly in Japan. During the 2000s, he worked as a producer and songwriter for Japanese artists. Today, he is a solo artist and has released two albums and two EPs. David has also co-written songs for feature films and numerous radio advertising jingles. He considers The Beatles his religion and occasionally performs as The Living Beatles Jukebox, while also appearing as “Benny” in the ABBA tribute band Super Trouper. At BEMU, David teaches subjects including songwriting and music industry studies, and also supervises degree projects.

Jakob Grundtman – Technical Director and Music Production Teacher
Jakob Grundtman teaches subjects including audio engineering and music production in our studio environments. He has a background as a freelance mixing engineer, producer, and live sound engineer based in Falun. As a mixing engineer, he has worked with many different bands and genres. Originally a musician, Jakob grew up playing everything from Greek folk music to hard rock. He first started playing the nyckelharpa and later bass and guitar. When he is not in the studio, he works as a live sound engineer and has toured for many years with artists such as The Tallest Man on Earth and Daniel Norgren. Today, Jakob also works at the concert arena Dalhalla as a system technician.
